Terms and Conditions

Entry is by interview and the means of assessment deemed appropriate by the Head, to ensure that the child is of a suitable academic standard and is compatible with the aims and objectives of the School.

Pupils are accepted at any age or stage of the school year, provided they meet the entry requirements and there is a place available in the age group.

A registration fee of £25 becomes payable on signature of the Registration Form by the parent/s or adult/s over the age of eighteen years, responsible for fees. This registration fee secures a place on the school list only. The fee is waived for children transferring from other Cognita.

A deposit of £300 is required to secure a place at Long Close School. The deposit is requested on the offer of a place by the Head after a successful assessment. The deposit will be returned after any charges incurred have been deducted at the end of the last term of attendance, subject to satisfactory notice (see below) being given.

Fees must be paid in advance each term and are not returnable. Interest will be charged on overdue accounts and the Governors or Head may exclude pupils from attendance if fees are outstanding after the first two weeks of term.

Notice of removal of a pupil must be given in writing to the Head not later than the first day of the last term to be attended; otherwise payment of a term’s fees will be required.

The Governors reserve the right to increase or alter fees as and when necessary.

The Governors may at any time, at their absolute discretion and without assigning any reason, terminate the course of tuition in respect of any pupil. In that event no further fees shall be payable by those responsible for that pupil’s fees, and as such shall not be entitled to claim the return of fees, or any part thereof already paid.

Should it be necessary to close the School on account of epidemic, or national crises, or any circumstances over which the Head has no control, fees cannot be refunded or compensation made for any period of tuition lost.

No responsibility is accepted for pupils arriving at School before 0830 (unless accepted into the before school club), nor money or articles of value lost on the premises.

The Governors reserve the right to amend or alter the conditions and rules of the school at any time.
