The Bristol Standard
The Bristol Standard
It was with great pleasure this week that we received our certificate from Slough Borough Council for achieving The Bristol Standard.
The aforementioned scheme is a self-evaluative framework that the Head of Pre Prep, all staff in Reception and Nursery have been working on for the last year. It ties in with the reflective practice that occurs throughout the school, allowing all practitioners to celebrate the ‘wonder’ of childhood and build upon our strengths, whilst at the same time identifying any weaknesses we feel we have.
This work has already resulted in staff receiving training on the use of the outdoor area and the introduction of the ‘Me, My family and My World’ books as we try to tighten those links between home and school. This is an initiative that we are particularly proud of, as we believe it is important that we as a team do not sit on ‘our laurels’ but drive our work forward and always strive for greater improvement.
I would like to sincerely thank all the staff for their support in achieving this ‘Gold Standard’.
