The PTA at Long Close is for everyone – parents, teachers and friends – and we welcome whatever involvement you can manage. That might mean making preparations for the Summer Fair, helping with a gift sale for Mother’s Day, or manning a tuck shop at the school disco. Or it could mean donating a prize for the Christmas Fair, dropping in to one of our coffee mornings or enjoying some well-earned TLC at our popular Pamper Night. It really doesn’t matter how much or how little time you can spare – any support you can offer is gratefully received.
All of our events and activities are designed to build links between home and school, and foster the unique atmosphere that makes Long Close such a special place. Some of them, of course, are also about raising funds for the school – and we always ensure that the money is spent quickly so that our children soon feel the benefit.
Sometimes we save up for big items like the new climbing frame in the school playground, but we also set money aside for smaller purchases such as Lego sets, a school digital camera and gifts for our leavers. What all of these items have in common is that they are ‘extras’ – not normally funded by the school’s educational budget – which means that we are making life at Long Close a richer, more exciting experience for all of our children.
If you want to get involved in any way, look out for our regular newsletter and for the letters or e-mails we send home about specific events. For more information about upcoming events, please head to our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/longclosepta). We look forward to seeing you.
