Pupils and staff mark Remembrance Day with special assembly

Pupils from Years 3-11 and staff gathered in the main school hall this morning for a special Remembrance Day assembly. Our Head Boy and Head Girl, Connor and Ria, started off with the introduction before Year 4 performed a moving extract from their assembly last week about life in the trenches. Year 11 students then introduced and read the poem ’In Flanders Fields’ before the Last Post heralded a two minute silence at 11am for reflection. Mr Pavey rounded off the assembly with the ‘Ode of Remembrance’ before we sang a hearty rendition of ’I Vow to Thee My Country’. It was a very moving and fitting tribute to those who have fought for our country over the last century.
