Easy 6 step process
1
Get in touch

Call our friendly Admissions Team today, or complete our online Enquiry Form to find out what makes Long Close so different to other schools. We would love to hear all about your child and arrange a visit so we can welcome you to our school.

2
Visit us

Arrange a Personal Tour of the school with our Admissions Manager, or book on to one of our upcoming open events.

3
Apply

When you're ready to take the next step, simply complete the online registration form and pay a fee of £100 (non-refundable). This will enable us to start our admissions process to ensure that we can meet your child's needs.

4
Invitation to attend a Taster Day/Session

You will receive an invitation for your child to come in for a taster day/taster session or assessment. Children do not sit an entrance exam, but for entry from Reception onwards children will be given age-appropriate assessments during their taster day to enable staff to measure their ability in class so ensuring a smooth transition on entry and to allow us to help them to fulfil their potential.

  • Early Years taster session – children joining our Nursery and Reception Class will be invited to spend the morning with us, usually between 9:30 am and 11:30 am. Children joining Long Close School mid way through the year in one of our current Reception classes can join us for a full day too.

  • Taster Days for Year 1 – Year 9 pupils – children spend the whole school day with us and take part in normal class activities. A healthy and nutritious lunch will be provided.

5
Offer a Place

Following a successful Taster Day or Session, the Headteacher will write to you (the prospective parents), officially offering your child a place at Long Close School. Upon receipt of the admissions paperwork and the accompanying deposit (£600 for Reception upwards, £300 for Nursery and Pre-school) to secure the place, our Admissions Manager will then contact you to discuss a start date for your child.

This will be refunded to you following your child’s final term at the school subject to the school being given the required one term’s notice as per the terms and conditions of our contract.

Admissions are now open for September 2024 entry, with spaces allocated on a first come first served basis.

We have limited spaces available for this current academic year, so do contact us today if you require an immediate start.
