Long Close Net Promoter Score Soars in Latest Parent Survey
Long Close School has seen its Net Promoter Score (NPS) increase by an impressive 23 points in its annual Voice of the Parent (VOP) survey. The NPS is used by the School’s Senior Leadership Team as a primary measure of parent advocacy towards the School, and the results in this year’s VOP indicate improvements across all four areas measured by the survey:

41.7% of parents who completed the survey scored the School as 9 or 10 out of 10. Areas that have received the highest level of improvement compared to last year include pupils’ learnings needs being met; accessibility of Leadership Team and teachers; recognition that school is a healthy and safe environment, and the school enables children to develop skills for the future.
One of the most prevalent comments related to the happiness of Long Close children. Parents described how the School’s caring, nurturing environment made the children feel happy and self-assured, enabling them to make the most outstanding progress in all areas. Parents also acknowledged the vital role our teachers play in the lives of children, helping them to feel happy and cared for at school.

Despite the challenges of recreating the school community and pupil experience remotely, the survey showed that parents believe the school has adapted effectively to meet the ever-changing circumstances. Parents commented about the excellent timing of the School’s personal digital device rollout to Years 3 and above, which took place at the end of the Autumn Term.

“During this second phase of the Lockdown, I feel that the teaching has been really good. There are clear timetables and expectations are clear. Providing individual laptops to students has also helped.”
“I am happy Long Close has provided a Laptop which can only be used for learning purposes.”
“The Long Close School team has responded very well to the government’s decisions within a short turnaround time. Teachers showed high adaptability skills when they had to switch to online learning and on top of that, made sure that the students cope well throughout the period.”
“The online teaching has been outstanding.”
The School’s continual adherence to the Department for Education’s guidance has given parents the assurance that the health, safety and wellbeing of pupils and staff has remained paramount throughout the pandemic. This was reinforced in some of the comments.
“Well done to the prompt responses to government guidance by the LCS leadership team. We understand it hasn’t been easy and really appreciate the efforts undertaken.”
“The school regularly communicates about the changes it is making. I feel safe sending my child to school because of the arrangements.”
Long Close School’s individualised approach to learning remains key to families with parents commenting how the small classes, coupled with nurturing positive relationships between teachers and pupils, meets the individual needs of each pupil.

“Great teaching standard. Dedication of staff to ensure pupils are having their needs met.”
All of the comments will be used by the school to help formulate its strategic direction over the next 12 months.
